Can I have a steroid injection?

Unfortunately not everybody is suitable for a steroid injection. Your current health and past medical history can affect your suitability. Click the below link and complete The Norden Physio's Medical Questionairre to understand if you would be suitable for a steroid injection.

Which conditions do you provide steroid injections for?

The conditions we treat most commonly with injection therapy include:

  • Osteoarthritis of the wrist, thumb, knee and big toe.

  • Shoulder pain

  • Thumb & wrist tendon pain known as Radial Styloid Tenosynovitis or Dequervain's Tenosynovitis.

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

  • Trigger Thumb / Finger

This list is not exhaustive, if you wish to enquire about a different condition or if you do not yet have a diagnosis, please click the link below to complete your free medical questionairre and book an assessment.

How much does the assessment consultation and injection cost?

Free online medical questionnaire - Free

Face to Face Assessment 60 mins - £50

Steroid Injection 30 mins - £75

Follow Up Appointment 30-50 mins - £30-50 (time dependent)

Not all patients will be suitable for a steroid injection. Therefore we will first assess your medical questionnaire and suitability for free. Once this has been assessed, if a steroid injection

remains a possible option for you, we will then book you in for a face to face assessment for further assessment at a cost of £50. Following the assessment we will then discuss whether an injection remains a suitable option or if alternative treatment may be indicated. If an injection is indicated, the cost is £75 per injection. We also strongly advise having a follow up appointment to ensure that your symptoms have responded appropriately and to discuss the next steps to optimise your outcome.

Are they painful?

We are experienced in providing the injection in a comfortable manner and it is not uncommon to hear our patients say 'was that it?'.
